QM60

De QM60 is Guru's referentiespeaker. In HiFi+ van mei 2010 besprak Jason Kennedy de Guru QM60. Hieronder enkele quotes. Volledige artikel staat als pdf op de pagina 'Guru in de pers'.

Net als de QM10 is de QM60 een tweewegsysteem dat werkt volgens het principe van de Helmholtz resonator. Dat is een akoestische resonator die bestaat uit een volume lucht (of ander gas) dat via een (prismatisch) kanaal in verbinding met de buitenlucht staat. De helmholz-resonator is genoemd naar Hermann von Helmholtz. In luidsprekerboxen wordt zijn principe toegepast om het weergavebereik naar de lage tonen uit te breiden (bron: wikipedia).

De QM60 staat op soft pads (dus niet op spikes). Ontwerper Öhman over spikes: “Putting the speakers on spikes (...) introduces resonances and high levels of mechanical tension in the system causing distortion and waves in the floor. And that has nothing to do with being true to the recording.”

De QM60 is standaard leverbaar in hoogglans wit of in Zebrano fineer, in combinatie met een matzwart of glanzend front. Afwijkende finishes mogelijk. Kijk voor technische specificaties op http://guruproaudio.com/qm-60-technical-specifications/
